Hi people, I've recently changed my head gasket on my d16z6.
Had the head skimmed, also changed my throttle body to another standard one as the one I had was sticking, so everytime I tried to accelerate, the pedal wasn't depressing until I gave enough pressure and then it moved. Thus causing my car to jump forward. So that's now sorted. I re-used my map sensor though on the replacement throttle body.
Other than that, the only other things I've changed are the spark plugs to NGK ones, my induction (password JDM/whale penis), new alloy rad, and oil.
I used to use 10-40w oil, I replaced it with 5-35w. I think my engine may be burning it quicker, I've been taking it for a blast to see, as it was sitting for at least 2 months while I was working on it.
Finally, (the very reason why I started this post), when I'm engaging vtec, especially towards the high end of the rpm range, I'm noticing a White/blue mist of smoke, as I change gear, a further, but far more noticeable amount of the same colour smoke appears.
Then once I brake nice and hard for a few seconds, then downshift into gear, and plant my foot again, more obvious amount of this smoke comes out.
Now, normal street driving the engine runs smooth, no smoke at all. Just when I'm going for an adrenaline rush does this smoke occur. However, even under hard driving the engine still feels absolutely fine.
What could this be, the only thing differently I've done is what I've listed above.
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
