#255916 Ok so I think it might be time for a change...

The image below shows the current headlights on the car. I think they help give the car an updated look and they fit nicely, but I can't help but notice how cheap they are. It's just not true to the car. So....

I need suggestions on new lights.

These are my thoughts so far but feel free to suggest alternatives:

1) USDM Stanley (already have them in the garage) + Amber Vision Corners + HID kit
2) USDM Stanley + JDM Stanley Corners + HID kit
3) JDM Stanley headlights and corners + HID kit
4) EDM headlights???? The glass ones without the nipples? think I could find some??

Here are my concerns:
1) Fitment: Are the JDM Stanleys going to look right with USDM glass w/ nipples??
2) If I buy JDM Stanleys (headlights and corners) is the plastic gonna be scratched and worn? think eBay. or another source?
3) Ideas on what HID kit??

Thanks everyone! your awesome!!

#256619 Ok I just ordered some JDM Stanley Headlights and corner lights.

Decided not to go with the HID kit because it sounds like the HID's in a stock housing will throw some weird light projections.

I want to wire the city lights to a relay so that they turn on with the running lights but back off with the low beams...

We will see. JDM lights are coming from Hong Kong so it might be a few days...

I've never seen a VX come from the factory with them. They look like the thin ones to :thumb:

Ok so I've been looking into this whole side molding thing, and it turns out that the Honda dealer in my area just put on some tape-on side moldings. It is some sort of generic side molding that they cut to length. They didn't do a very good job cutting them or rounding the edges... As you can see in the picture below.

So I would like to replace them.

Ideally I would like to get some PASSWORD JDM Thin Side Moldings (TAPE) style. But they are discontinued....

Anybody have any ideas?? Could I remove the clips from the standard ones and just use 3M tape???

Thanks

Rounded ends... not very clean

Not exactly cut to the correct length...

#259496 you probably could remove the clips from the oem ones. since you don't have holes for them, that would probably be your best option.

#272620 I finally got around to updating the site. Since last time I have successfully installed some new headlights as well as a couple other things. Kinda just fiddling around to see what I like.

I also repainted all of my black exterior pieces. Things were starting to look a little dulled. Mirrors and trim look like new now though!

New JDM Headlights - Much cleaner looking

I designed a new sealed subwoofer enclosure. This is number 3 for the car. The last one was just taking up too much space for the back to be usable. I also like the sealed sound better as well.

Amp mounted in the spare tire

All installed before carpeting

The finished product... clean looks and clean sound. The cross tie does a nice job of protecting it too if I ever load stuff in the back.

On an unrelated topic. I decided to put my old VX wheels back into use. I wrapped them in some new 165/75/R13 low rolling resistance Sumitomos, the factory tire size.

The tires have also been filled with Nitrogen. I have been hearing good things about Nitrogen filled tires. They don't heat up on the highway, and because of the larger molecules, Nitrogen doesn't osmosis through the rubber like air does. It also is supposed to help with fuel economy (which it does!)

I recently was driving through California on the I-5 headed South. For 165 miles going 76mph I averaged 60MPG!!! That's better than a PRUIS! I was stoked! I still have my Proxies with SI wheels, but I swap these babies on when its time for a road trip.

I've got a couple more projects to post on soon...
