As some one that has skunk2 products for years now, knowing back in the day that they started out shipping and distributing products made in ASIA, I still don't see what this guys vendetta against the company. If he only knew that most products suspension, engine and others come out of factories from ASIA. I have been in the scene for an extremely long time and never once have I heard any bad reviews about products from skunk2. There are very few companies that manufacture all their own products in house, reading that thread shows and proves that companies like D2 and K-sport are made in the same place which was already proven years ago when they rose up from ground. Companies like blox, BWR are companies that copy products just like omni power if any one remembers them from back in the day.
Yes, putting a reward out is fucked up I will agree to that, but showing bills of lading from and overseas exporter what does that prove that they have the products made in china WOW so does damn near every other large manufacturing chain, wal-marts products all come from china, so does that mean wal-mart is a distributor? So there are so many large companies that have their parts or items manufactured in china or another ASIAN country and then shipped over here. How could everything be Q&A that comes out of there I do agree, but at the same time we can not speculate how the manufacture of the product test and checks to make sure that the metal mixture is right the machines are all holding temperature correctly to do the job. There are so many aspects that go into running your own business. I am positive that we have all got something name brand whether it be from skunk2, koni, function form, blox, or one of the other hundreds of companies out there that make parts for honda's that did not come with a defect it broke and we had to replace the part or due to it, but it is all in how that company handles the request from which your issue comes about is to weather it makes them a bad company or not. Does any one remember when Megan Racing hit the scene 10 + yrs ago. I do it was all so on ebay looked like generic stuff for a cheap price. And now they are huge back then they didn't have a website or anything it was just distributors selling their products on ebay. I will be interested to see how this all comes about and what it all really in tells since there is really no word on what this guy is really trying to prove.
I know that there are companies out there like eibach, edlbrock, bilstein and many more that Q&A everything and it is made in house. But that is also why most of their products cost quite a bit more at the same time. As far as knock off stuff look at ROTA or Spun wheels, or drag all of those wheels are knock offs of something or another and do they hold up for some they do for others not so much. You want to get super technical about things go look where anything is made now a days and see how much of it is not made in the same place as the actual headquarters of that company.
Do not get me wrong here I do not condone this type of out cry from a company that is this big into our scene and it bothers me because I am a huge supporter of their products and have run them installed them and sold them to many people over the last 10 years. But I still know that they stand behind what they sell even if it is manufactured in China or not. Look how many big shops use skunk2 products for their race cars and even the little shops.
