How to tell B18

- Sun Dec 23, 2007 3:33 am #35080 I just bought a civic with a "B18 vtec block and B16 Head" How do I know what type if B18 is it is it c1 or gsr or ls or something? and plus how much is the b18 and tranny cost because Im trying to get rid of it.

it will have B18.... followed by a letter and number.

give us that number and one of us will be able to tell you what car it came from and quite abit of info on it.

just look like on the oil pump or the water pump oil pan etc to see if it says P72 or P73

- Mon Dec 24, 2007 5:16 am #35163 OK seriously there is metal shavings in my oil pan when I took out the b18 for my swap. The mech says it needs rebuild. How much do you think the b18 with tranny and ecu costs?? and where can i sell this thing

if you can just get another crank and another set of rods and get the crank micro polished and if you have to balance it and the throw some arp rod bolts on it and the blocked honed and put everything back together if you can get the machine shop to blue print it too
