daily driven for most ZC would be around 200whp be the safe magic number.

Same number i was gonna say haha, i kinda looked down that route when i was thinking boost. but just decided to go with the d16z6, but with the right tuning you might get some good numbers.

Maybe look around on local forums for a dyno near to you, When i started out i had a chip made for me by someone i didn't really know, thought it was a good deal, anyway the chip was no good, when i went for a tune, my tuner could make chips so he helped me out and burnt a new chip and just tuned it right there, i think that is what i am going to do next time also!
So what i'm saying is that i would imagine that most shops could help you out with your tune, and info on stuff that might help you specific to your build.

IMO,
best stock setup is
make sure no gaskets/seals are leaking if they are, replace them.
I did my timing belt, water pump, ps belt ac belt (if you have them) at the same time. I replaced my headgasket with a cometic heavy duty one and this is the emphasis ARP HEADSTUDS. The headstuds will prevent headlift and you can make it to 200whp without problems of overflowing coolant etc etc.
ARP headstuds + new headgasket = good for 200whp provided your engine is decent shape. I had 100k on my motor when I turboed it. compression was good all across.
best stock setup is

alright thanks.
that's good to know cause i just replaced all the gaskets, thermostat water pump, and all the belts.
the engine i got is a low mileage japanese engine.
it has around 30,000 miles.

Good, Turbokit, and "Not to expensive" Normally dont go together that well.
Stay away from eBay. 99.7%(not an accurate number) of those turbos wont last you. Some people selling good name brand turbos there might be okay. then agian they might not be.
If you want a Good Turbo kit for cheap. The easiest way is to piece one together yourself. You will want to research everything very well. I have been researching Turbo Info for over a year now. I have yet to buy any Turbo parts. However the down side of this is you have to know Exactly what you are doing.
If you don't want to put the time into researching, then buy someones pre made turbo kit. I don't have any locations. Google will help you though.
Things to make sure that are in your Turbokit:
- Turbo Charger (if you want 200hp or less, get a t25. If you want more then 200hp, get a t3 or t3/t4. If you will also use this for Daily Driving the t3/t4 will take longer to spool, It will also have a higher spool point which will be better for freeway cruising)
- Front Mount Intercooler (FMIC)
- Blow off Valve (BOV)
- All of your Piping. (Charge Lines, Down Pipe)
- Oil/Coolant Lines
- Wastegate (Internal Wastegates will be on some turbos, Some will have External Wastegates)
- Exhaust/Turbo Manifold
Recommended:
- Boost Controller. I recommend Electronic. Research the brands find the best one that will fit your needs.
- Oil Catch Can/Breather (How to on this site on how to make one)
- Blow off Valve - This should come in a kit. If it doesn't buy one. This will prevent compressor surge, Which can destroy your turbo.
