#52795 Well, the car that i just bought is burning oil pretty bad and is now leaking coolant from somewhere. So, would it be more practical to swap the motor or to rebuild the stock d15b7? if i swapped it, i'd probably go with something like a b18 or d16 something like that. But if i rebuild the motor, i'd probably see what i can find for making it a high revving, high comp motor. What would the prices be on something like that and what would i need as this would be my first engine build.

let me know!

thanks!

#52797 I recommend a Swap. If you rebuild up your D15, you will fell a need for more power. and I can almost grantee that noone will give you the amount of money you will put in for rebuilding it when you try to sell it.

I Recommend swapping in a LS(b18a/b) or B20(with LS Tranny) as it can be done for the cheap, and will be much faster then your d15. When you have cash later you can then put a Vtec Head on it or just Boost the Non Vtec Head.

IMO Thats the "Best Bang for your Buck".

#52809 I agree with chrono... plus swapping an LS into your car would give you a little more torque rather than high strung HP..

#52813 that's what i figured. However, i was thinking about possibly just swapping in the sohc vtec motor in since it already has the tranny. I don't know. How "generally" would a full ls swap be??

#53044 if you are asking what you would need to do it.. from what ive been told you could just get stock integra mounts, axles, and shift linkage and all that other stuff and that is all you would need to swap it in.. so it really should be that hard to complete.

#53253 keep in mind, you are buying USED motors..

this means these motors possibly have the same issues you have. If I ever do a swap, I would actually replace all the gaskets + timing belt water pump etc etc to make sure the motor doesnt bail on me due to unknown mileage on the belts. This can be called insurance for around $100-400 bucks depending on what you replace on top of the swap price.

#53359 that's also something that i had in mind for this since i don't want another dud like the one that in my car now!!!
