what kind of climate do you run in?
I highly suggest running synthetic because it has higher temperature breakdown than regular dino oil. Synthetic can withstand higher temperatures than regular oil which helps during racing..but if you don't race with a supercharged d series, there is no real need for the protection. (I would slap you if you didnt race one though!)
I usually run regular castrol synblend 10w-40 in my car when I daily drive the car. On race days, I've been trying out redline and royal purple 15w50 for the extra protection.
If you live in colder climates, 5w-30 should be fine.. otherwise if you live in 40+F range areas since its getting to be summertime, I would suggest a thicker hot weight like 40 or 50.
