#61915 Hey guys i just grabbed a valve cover off a 16v sohc engine in an EF hatch. It was in a junk yard and i got it for like 10 bucks so i thought it was a deal. It seriously looks brand new. Will this cover fit on my d15b8?

#61971 If it came off a stock engine(Non-vtec, sparkplug holes should be in the rear). then It should fit onto your engine.

However If someone swapped in a Vtec or y7 Head(Spark plug holes in Frount), the Valve Cover wont fit.

With the expection of the D16y7 Valve Cover. It has the spark plugs in the Front like the VTEC Heads.

#62112 Good job DC4rob, but why did you exclude the 96-00 SOHC VTEC valve covers? They are identical to the 96-00 SOHC NON-VTEC valve covers.

In other words, the Y7 valve cover will fit a Y8, Y5, a Z6, and even a Z1.

they are similar to the 92-95 vtec valve covers and plus i put 92-00 sohc vtec on the first picture.

on the valve covers i seen in all sorts of variations like the black crinkle coat front spark plugs, black crinkle coat front spark plugs with vtec logo on it and so forth

#62245 The phrase "92-00 SOHC VTEC " doesn't include 96-00 NON-VTEC.

In 94 and 95 they put "VTEC" and "VTEC-E" on the Z6 and Z1 valve covers. Before that they just said Honda. It took me a while to track down a "VTEC-E" valve cover for my 3 Stage motor so that's why I know. I forget the break down for the crinkle paint. I'm pretty sure it was 93 and earlier.

There's a federal law that car models have to have significant changes every couple years and that's why you see small variations in cars ie valve covers two years into a new model release.
