#70426 Well before i start i should explain why there are no pics right now even at the start of this build...well my computer is down for the moment its a pissy little thing but I am fixing it slowly now. but im on my laptop which right now has limited capabilities....but hopfully pics will be up soon.

Ok now that thats over here we go.........

Car-1995 Honda civic Cx with a swaped D16Z6 in it probaly producing a decent amount of power though not near enough for me.

Project info:
Well this idea started awhile back when I purchased a 1994 Si that had a B18a1 turbo in it...of coarse the guy took it out before i got it since i got it for free. I thought i was going to end up putting my Z6 in my Cx into it and a B into my Cx. but now due to me not getting a motor in time and funds slowly slipping away because i cant handle alot of money without buying other things for my car....or fr pleasure (no not prostitutes i bought a '84 Honda fourtrax atv)... but now ive gotten down and figured well I am just going to Turbo the Z6 and see what happens if i like it or not if not i can always sell the kit i make. since ive never owned or been in a civic with boost ive never experienced it.

So now onto the main subject the build

Plans....
using a CRX HF manifold I got in a trade for a obd0 ecu i had around. I plan on getting an adapter plate either make one like they do on homemadeturbo or buy one....I plan on taking advantage of a DSM2 T-25 garret turbocharger that i purchased for $50 from my local junk yard. and mating it with the hf manifold and the adapter plate. and going from there since this si really as far as I ave gotten. but there is still alot I am planning on getting

-Since I own a welder I am going to be making my own downpipe and exhaust probaly featuring a edlebrock CAT. or something like that.

-Plan on buying a sandwich to allow for a oil pick up and getting another Z6 oil pan to use for a oil drop off area.

-of coarse lines for oil and coolant since this turbo is cooled by both

-intercooler I am thinking a side mount style but placing it where the A/c would of been depending on access and room

-Still looking for a good tuning program/ MAP for the ecu this is probaly where most of my money is going

-Probaly going to get a bunch of pipin together for the routing of the turbo and stuff.

-Blow off valve

-Guage for the boost and a good boost controller

-injectors from a DSM1 turbo 4g63 motor might just see if my buddy wants to sell his

-And gaskets galore definately going to rebuild the turbo just because thats always something i do if its pretty simple and i know what im doing and also its a cheap way to ensure the turbo will be good while running and wont mess up.

Well thats it for now gotta go back to fixing my computer so I can get some pictures up for you guys probaly going to start cleaning up the hf manifold tonight getting it ready for porting.

UPDATED INFO:

Well I decided to get myself a OBD0 ZC and convert it into OBD1 for my cx hatch instead of using the Z6 since that is going to get its gaskets refreshed and placed into my SI.....

And im giving myself a time table of whenever lol since this stuff takes time and ill be quiting my job come the 20th of october since it just brings me down and i cant do anything after it.....

#71549 update sept. 25th

Well i thought since i havent posted in awhile on the forum(about a day lol give or take) I thought id update my progress on my turbo build.

Its been slow going lately been really riding my wheeler around at my friends house before hunting season rolls in and I dont want to be caught dead in those woods around here when that happens there are some trigger happy peeps where i am.....but yea besides that I have been having financial issues none too great but just enough to not let me buy some things but one thing i did buy was this

http://civic-eg.com/viewtopic.php?t=5354

Thank you marvinp8700

I bought this head mainly for the cam gear but heck I also have a Si that needs a motor so probaly do something along the lines of a quick engine build with a Y8 block thats sitting at my local yard or maybe a quick engine build for the turbo and just place my motor into the si and the semi built motor into my cx for the turbo but I dont know what i am going to do yet since winters comming might just get a motor together for the Si and drive that though it is a rust free car .....lol i know shame on me.....but I really need to work on my CX so its gotta happen.

But yea besides that probaly taking out my motor and sizing up the trubo and creating a downpipe myself along with some internal help so it dosent get to tired that it decides to blow (I dont definately dont need that to happen) and yea thats mainly my update.

All I know is whomever is watching this bear with me its going to be a long haul but its all going to be worth it in the end i definately want to do this correctly........

Ohhh and before I forget I bought the Project car mag. awhile back where they had a CRX turbo D16a6 (CRX/civic si engine) vs a B16 jdm swap into a civic si (hatch) I cant get enough of this magazine and not to mention cant get enough of this issue since i am building a d turbo on a budget just like they did. though may not use some of the things they did I still love reading it over and over again. and seeing how the discarded D came out on top over the B. Just goes to show the D series motor can be great and perform at a lower cost.....and thats why im getting rid of my GSR hydro tranny

So until next paycheck (saturday) nothing further to update you guys on....

Yea im definately doing the research on this like you said i dont want to do things wrong then all my work would be for nothing but something bad and probaly unusable.....

And I dont really know about the hood i like it and yet im not the biggest fan of it i mean its definately better than stock lol this thing weighs probly less than 5lbs....but yea it came with the car. along with the Si's so cant complain too much about it

And yea respray is in the works same color just because i like that color on this hatch.

And

Yes the turbo is off a Dsm T25 off a 1997 eclipse GST that went into my junkyard for no apparent reason along with a convertable 1998 turbo but there was anice hornets nest under the cover of the '98 convertables' turbo so i took the coupes I dont want to get stung if i dont have too lol.....

And yea the rust factor..... its got enough to be a problem... ive stopped most of it for now and have rear quarters to be put on

And now that there is a nice tool sale comming to town i might pick up some essential things just have to keep track of my money lol

#72713 hey new update but no pics yet because i am just that lazy no not really i just have been unable to get the time to take them and im adjusting the the ny cold weather freezing because my house needs some updates lol....

but heres a update for you

Well i have been talking around since i really like the simplicity of the d motor trying to get rid of my gsr trans that needs work of coarse and a buddy of mine who had moved away but is starting a b project is interested might be getting another turbo from a ford probe/ mazda 626 along with a D16a6 motor from a crx si in good running condition for another project of mine i will be posting about in alittle bit.....possibly a dohc ZC motor and a couple more odds and ends with some more stuff i am getting rid of (ef lowering springs since im converted to eg lol....and del sol interior stuff i bought awhile back for he is planning a custom interior......

But yea all n all some good stuff will be instead of bought traded my favorite word since i dont like to buy stuff to often

As well as i recently went to a tool sale and bought for my bench grinder a wire wheel so now lets just say that hf manifold is shining nicely getting ready for a coat of paint for rust protection......

and once i get my other project going some major changes are instore for my cx just wait and see ......

#75623 well now i can say clean i just waxed her and boy when it rained water just beaded right up and it was almost like i had rainx on my car lol except i only missed my windows which got all wet when driving.......

Well anyhow I am probaly getting a space out back to work with instead of my favorite sidewalk just because in the winter the snow gets everywhere and its freaking cold though im sure its gonna be cold when im working on my car underneath tarps and such but ill at least be on a nice concrete slab devoid of snow so my car will be put up for the winter however im not going eg less ill be hopfully done sorta with my other project in the background which i am getting ready to post about soon.....but yea until i finish the project out back im probaly not going to go any further than this right now top priority is to make my mother happy and clean up the back yard lol

So on that note no further updates until this saturday when i go to a friends house with a pile of goodies and come back with a nice piles of goodies that i can actually use or sell......including a nice ZC engine
