#77883 And if you are gonna swap the head, it better be a vtec head.. :thumb:

#77886 Yes the 16 valve head will work.

Pros=16valve
cons of b8=8valve.

I don't know how much you're paying for the 16valve head, but i got a d16y8 vtec head for only forty bucks. much better than the non vtec head imo.

#77913 it will fit but if you're going through the trouoble then you might as well do a complete mini-me swap.

Your stock ECU isn't mapped right to run a 16v head, I think it will run too lean. If you do use the OBD0 16v head you will want to use a custom chipped ecu or at least a dx/lx ecu (p06?)

If you do a mini-me swap then use a P28 ecu and everything will be perfectly matched PLUS you'll have a vtec head instead of an old obd0 16v head with no vtec :thumb:

any non-vtec ecu should work

#77935 I'm not sure, but the obd0 intake could be dual port fuel injection. If it is dpfi instead of mpfi, then keep your stock intake :thumb:

Also not sure if the obd0 intake will have all the same sensors :?
If not, then keep your stock one :thumb:

#77948 the intake has mpfi.my intake is to small,it's look like a gocart intake.i will look for a ecm,and try to find a intake from a 92 to 95 dx or ex.

I have one from my 92 dx, it's in great shape, clean too.

it is the actual one from the right side of this comparison pic: http://civic-eg.com/pics/diy/d_im_compa ... C_0299.jpg

#78460 go with vtec.. your car is already wired for it, plug and play :thumb:

#78464 don't you need 16 valve pistons? I've got a D15B8 too so this may be music to my ears

Unless the car came stock with a vtec motor, the 92 hatchbacks are the only ones pre-wired for vtec. I'm not 100% sure, but i think teal can help out on this one too.

Yep that is correct, only 92 hatches :thumb:

Also the pistons in the d15b8 have reliefs cut for 16 valves. :thumb:

#78570 Use a DX ECU and a DX intake manifold.

As for whether you can do it or not, I'd be concerned with how it will affect compression. Also, which head bolts are you going to use? Sounds like a headache unless you're comfortable doing headswaps. I doubt you'll find anyone that's done it before. On the other hand, maybe it will bolt right on.

Hey maybe it will bump your compression up really high and you'll have a sleeper combo D-series monster.
