#80796 My first car, I bought it 3 months after I passed my test, kept it stock for a year, made an epic mod list (it was HUGE) and then thought 'sod it, I'll keept it simple'

Model

Civic DX (D13)

Modifications

No one cares.

Rust. Does that count?

Image
At first, probably 3 weeks after I got her

Then I fixed up the rusty hole at the back. That got crashed into about 2 days after I got the paint done

The exhaust was a side effect of wanting to mount the rear roll bar, the standard exhaust left no room for it to mount, so out it went and in came this custom cat-back.

Image
Then these beauties arrived :D

Image
Welcome to sunny England lol

Not much has changed since then. Well nothing actually lol Got some brakes off a VTi to go on and most of the suspension as well, although if I'm honest I've already pinched half of it anyway to fit the roll bars

So, B16 in April should be quite quick. Thing only weighs 930kg so I figure it was a good base to swap with. Going to take a little more work than an ordinary swap but I don't forsee any problems. I like electronics and that's where the issues are gonna be.

Stay tuned :D

Yeah the back still sits high, I've spoken to the supplier and they haven't got back to me.

The front is spot on though, perfect finger width from arch to tyre. Those pics were taken while it was still settling :)

The whole lot is the Koni Sport kit, I'd have liked to know the spring rates tbh but Koni don't release them so I winged it and I have to say they are brilliant. On full soft they ride so much better than standard, currently somewhere in the middle - plenty of grip and not uncomfortable at all unless the road was laid by a trog with truck lol

On the rim front, they need a good refurb. I skimmed the lip down to get all of the ingrained dirt and crap off but didn't seal them afterwards so I've got to do that again. Also a huge kurb mark on the drivers rear wheel courtesy of the previous owner which I need to find out how to fix. They did look good after I gave them a going over the first time though, quite a dull shine but it looked awesome :D

#80833 Damn right I'm getting an A2 it's gonna be fun being able to keep up with / beat brand new hot hatches should be a laugh.

Think I worked out that times down the strip would be about mid 14s with a good launch but in all fairness this car isn't about strip times. I want a quick all rounder :D

#80838 They're 6.5" components, they resonate slightly in the cavity behind the door card if you listen to something with really deep bass which is slightly annoying but I'm not too fussed tbh. Beats the crap out of the 10w speakers Honda provided lol

It would ride better if they weren't trying to make out that the randomly high ride height at the back was my fault lol
