- Sat Mar 07, 2009 1:12 am #101129 I had my z28 near the road with a 'for-sale' sign on it, because...well....I was trying to sell it. I get an early wake up call from my dad asking me what happened. I went outside because I knew what he was talking about, and there is my car keyed up all of the way around it and beat my hood with something like a large rock or hammer.

I had collision on it, so I'll be getting a check for nearly 2,000 for a new paint job and a new hood(was cheaper than paying labor to fix it).

Now I'm trying to figure out which to do. Would I get more money if I tried to sell it like it is, bought a new/used hood and get a $300 macco, or if I parted it out?

Depending on your local macco, some do decent work and some do shit jobs. You could even ask around, maybe there's a painter in your town that could do it at his place on the side.
Figure a hood might run you $100 tops?

I'm trying to contact someone that took Autobody Repair with me because he works in a shop and I'm sure I could get a deal/ convince him to get the shop to give me/him a spot and do the work ourselves. I know I could get a single stage paint kit for around $100.
