if you think about it, they are definitely more restrictive than a straight through muffler. You are adding two 180° bends to your exhaust. You might not feel any difference on your average NA car, but it would definitely hurt on a boosted car.

That's a OBX twin loop on my 93 EX D16Z6 engine with I/H/E.
