you can see there that they are pretty much different. While the z6 head will bolt up to the d15b6 block, the z6 internals won't be the same because the motors have different stroke lengths.

I'd put the z6 head on the d15b6 (assuming all the passages line up) and run that setup. In the meantime look for another z6 bottom end, even to build up if you plan on going that route.

#114176 im sendin my z6 block to a shop and gettin it bored out and if i use my z6 head on the b6 internals i think my valves r gonna hit the piston :? so i think id have to use my z6 pistons for the clearnce anyway idk what to do am i fucked either way? and im on a super strict budget

#114339 the crankshafts are different from d15's and d16's.
d15 cranks have shorter stroke (that's why they're d15 insted of d16)
also they have smaller main journals, and use shorter connecting rods.
you are better off replacing the Z6 crank, and whatever other damaged Z6 parts than trying to make the d15b6 (62bhp @ 4500rpm) work
or maybe just find another d-series long block
d15b6 specs:

#114396 I beleive it would be alot of machining to do something like this but i think you could use dont quote me but i think its possible to use the z6 crank with d15 rods and 1.6 pistons or you could just use 1.6. pistons or you could just go about doing a mini me head swap which would be so much easier....

#114433 you cannot use a d16 crank in a d15, for the 2 reasons i posted.
1-stroke is too long, pistons would stick out of the block.
2-main journals are too big, crank won't fit in the block. then there's the oil pump

you cannot use D15 rods on the d16 crank because the rod journals are larger than the 'big end' of the d15 rod.

the d15b6 gets whopping 62bhp@ 4500 rpm. (fail)
a stock d15b7 makes more power and can be used for a mini-me with your z6 head.
