b16 is high compression, not very good for boost

Not strictly true, you can still boost a high compression motor, you just run much less boost to get similar results.

Obviously a lower compression is slightly more desirable for low end however

i've done the n/a rout but im addicted to boost, what can you say,

- Tue Apr 28, 2009 6:42 am #113653 i run an cheap ebay turbo kit at 8 psi on my b16a and haven't had any problems for allmost 9 months now. obviously a lower compression engine would be bettter for higher boost. however a built b16 with eagle rods and 9 to 1 turbo pistons is almost bulletproof when properly tuned.
if money is not an issue then i would deffinatly go that route.

CRX's weigh 1800-1900 pounds. Then put a 160hp(130whp) engine into it. you have a stupid fast Car.

Friend of mine has a B16 in a Gutted HF CRX. He has Stage 1 cams and a 50 shot. He beats up on everyone n/a and almost never has to use his bottle. His 10lb bottle last him like 2-3 mouths lol.

Granted if you boosted you could make even more power, However you have the small engine bay in your way as well as the fact your making so much power in such a light car you cant get grip.
