#115930 Hey guys. Havent posted on here for a long time. I have a problem with rust in and around my gas tank door. Im wondering if anyone else on here has had this problem when they did body work to their car. I plan on doing the quarters and rockers this summer.

Now the guy that had the car before me molded the side skirts into the rockers. Im just looking for some advise on what you guys think I should do. Should I get a new gas tank door area, lol welded in along with the quarters?

Here are some pics for reference.

you'll have to remove the filler between the body and the rocker. chip it off and sand it down smooth. it might be easier to put on another set of rockers (side skirts) instead of restoring the ones that have the bondo on them.

The area around the gas door is going to be difficult... but the good thing is that you don't see in there except when you fill the tank at a station. So you could fabricate a piece and it doesn't need to look 100% perfect like oem, just get the job done.
