#98560 you should probally just keep the b16a and with the money you dont spend on a b20 vtec or ls vtec get like cams or turbo, etc :thumb:

#102933 Go for the B20. The B20 engine is identical to the B18B, just with an 84mm bore. If built the same, the B20 will have more hp. (it is easier to find 81mm pistons though)

#102970 I have been in both LSvtecs and CRvtecs(always call a B20vtec though) and both rip good and hard. It depends on what ones built better.

The B20vtec will have better torque due to more displacement, However you also have to worry about the thinner walls. That said I have ride in just plain stupid fast b20vtecs, if you are going to go with a N/A Build go with a B20vtec. If built right it can beat up on K20 swaped egs. I have scene it first hand.

However if you are going to boost, you want the extra stregth of the LS's walls. So in that case you want the LSvtec. Its easier to find LSblocks locally, There are more parts available, i.e. the 81mm pistons.

Hope that helps :thumb:

#110299 LSvtec.... You're only gonna gain 3 foot pounds of tq from the B20 and a weaker wall in the block. You'll never tell the difference from the 2, at stock build.

And you can't justify all motor vs. boosting one or the other.

LS engines have 9.4 compression ratio, vs. the B20's 8.8 on OBD1 and 9.6 on OBD2... So, boosting either one will render you the same results, out of a STOCK build.

#117749 neither will be better than the other one, because to get them to work well with the high rpm capabilities of the head you want to use, you will have to build the short block, there for negating what stock shit comes in what block.

I think your missing the point of my post. Reread it again maybe? I said stock B20 or B18b bottom end. Not a built bottom end like you state you have in your build thread.

i have a fully bild b20b/vtec
with 84.5mm arias pistons
h-bean connecting rods
golden eagle block guard
golden eagle sleeving
bdl revo-s pro series cam gears

That right there says you dont have stock shit, there for you built the bottom end to handle the flow and rpm characteristics of the head. A stock LS or B20 can not rev past 7 reliably. The rod bolts are meant for it, there is no crank girdle.... its just not designed to go higher, otherwise honda would let it.
