#119261 Aighty guys and gals.. I want to get into shape.. I'm 23 yrs old 5'11" 185lbs and basically no muscle tonage to my body, oh and i have a beer belly not quite a Dunlap but a belly none the less.


SO,
-I'm going to start up running again (was running 2-3 miles a day but havent in about 5-6 months)
-I bought a weight bench and a few weights (i dont really know what to do, Ive never weight lifted)
-I'm addicted to fast food and soda and beer.


WHAT I NEED FROM YALL.....
-Please post quick easy healthy'ish meals to cook.
-weight training tips.
-pretty much anything else that you think might help me or keep me motivated!


I will take some porno pics er I mean BEFORE pics and pics along the way to show any progress.. if anyone else would like to post up and get in shape DOOO IT this can be a shared thread.

GOAL- I'm NOT doing this to lose weight. I want to get healthier and more "toned"

#119272 well your biggest prob is the fast food and soda. trust me i drink and eat so much crap. im 22 5.10 125lbs. and i can all the food i want and cant gain a pound. plus i dont run or work out and i still have hard abs and nice tone. but i would like to get like 10 more lbs and a litttle more tone. so if you can ill pay for shipping just send me 10 lbs of what you lose my way :lol:. as for food im not sure but i would say stuff low on carbs, calories and salt. fryed food now thats one food thats fatty. its not the meat its the braded out side. but i would say just by stop eating fast food will not only help lose wait but keep the money in your pocket to work on you car lol.

Fast food and soda really shouldnt be toooooooo big of a problem I've already cut down BIGTIME on that crap.

I used to drink a monster a day and did that for MONTHS now.. Ive had 3 monsters in a month 8) still a work in progress but I think thats pretty good!

#119297 o ya its great. i can go to a buffet and eat 5 lbs of food and walk out weighing less lol. and as for the monsters i am drinking one now. i was drinking 3-4 a day then i stoped for like 2 months then im back on em, just 1 mabey 2 every other day. and i know what you mean. just wanna tone it up some. well get rid of fast food and just start running 1 or twice a day. drink water. its the calories man.

Going out to the GYM will keep you more motivated and keep it up.

I would TOTALLY do this if money wasn't an issue. I'm working towards getting my finances straight and more than likely will join a gym at the later months of this year!

#119318 basically what I heard is if you cut soda completely out and/or just switch to one or two diet sodas and drink a ton of water you'll lose weight. One of my friends lost about 35 pounds in 2-3 months just buy eating smaller portions and no soda plus she would walk/run on the treadmill three times a day..basically after each meal. So what she ate she ended up burning off on the treadmill

ok ok jk....
if you want to be healthier and be more "tone" , then ok to be tone you need to lift wieghts but very little amounts with many reps... so for example:

5 sets of 100 at 60lbs

the bar weights i think 50 but some weight 40 but anyways w.e make w.e your lifting 60lbs

so lift 60lbs on the bench 100x for 5x take a 5 min break in btw and drink lots of water.

ive lifted as a hobbie for 3 yrs and ive learned alot form trainers and crap

if you wanna be tone hardly any weight but do alot of reps
if you wanna be more bulky use alot of weight but not many reps

as far as food wise ..... ill be truthful i do th same thing but i cant gain a lb

#119413 That's kind of what I started doing.. many reps of 75lbs... I'm also going shopping this weekend for higher protein foods... tuna chicken special K protien waters to help curb hunger pangs

#119436 I'm with the other lightweights in here who have the opposite... I can't gain weight :(

I was prob low 130's senior yr in highschool, I grew 9" in those 4 yrs so I was a twig. I joined a gym after HS for a year and got close to 150 plus I worked stock so I was moving stuff all day.
I worked out once in a while while in college, rode bike etc
Graduated & worked in an office since and lost some of the muscle I had left.
I rode my bike to work sometimes which felt great and lifted occasionally but had to put my weights in storage for over a year and then got married & moved and never had time to lift after moving. I started to feel like I was getting a slight belly and losing strength, 6 pack was long gone lol.
So I started lifting again about a month and a half ago. I physically felt the best I have felt since I joined the gym after HS. I'm not tired as much any more during the day. I am lifting 5 days a week and sometimes drink protein shake.
So after 1 month, I weigh my self... I gained only 1 lb :lol:
I'm 6'1 and weigh 146 now.
I'm trying to hit 160 because I made a bet with my wife that If I weighed 160 lbs, I would be allowed to buy a 4 wheeler. 8)
But shit It's gonna take me a year and a half at this rate!
