turbo eclipse

- Sun Jul 12, 2009 8:01 pm #129936 my friends got a 80's turbo eclipse AWD and we went to the good guys cruise in and since nobody was out on the freeway we ended up doing a 40 to 110 drag and i almost won he got me by a bumper ( my other friend watched ) and i was suprised mine kept up while he had boost and mines just a built b16a and my clutch is awful anybody else think so? or is that natural :?

- Sun Jul 12, 2009 8:10 pm #129939 well the eclipse was 1st made in 1990, but the GSX which is the all wheel drive is a 2.0 180-195hp depending on the trans and yr

so i think its natural, change ur clutch and u'll take him :lol:

everyone on this site has a early 90's car. those cars have potential to be bad ass. i'd roll one. :roll:

The fact that its a early 90's car aint the problem. The fact that its a early 90's "Eclipse" is what i find funny. They are scrap in my opinion...

i almost taded my sedan for a 1st gen eclipse

but thank god i didnt cause it broke down the next week

not that just they have MAD crank walk. the interior is shitty. the body is "cheap" not in as price but i mean when you look at it you just get that feeling. same as the interior.

and plus i pulled a GSX long time ago in my CX hatch that had a sohc vtec swap and that was it. he had exhaust and BOV and that fucker couldnt catch up.

7-bolt 4g63's crankwalked, 6-bolts... not so much.

- Mon Jul 13, 2009 8:28 am #130044 ^^^Thank you. and the 7 bolts only crankwalk on stock internals and runnin 300 hp+ so....it aint the engine thats bad its the girly car they put em in. Unlike Hondas however you can get hp and TORQUE out those engines. You talk all you want but the 4g63t engine was around for quite a while. You wouldnt call an EVO a piece of junk...same engine (with some tweaks) up until the EVO X. A stock Eclipse 90's wouldnt be all that fast...so it may very well be feasable to beat him. I'd be willing to bet it is a GST cuz the GZX with AWD would pull hard...even in stock form and I doubt you would take him unless you are modded. Also the Eclipse is heavy...
