#136878 BlaCKSiLo, I ahvent checked the plug lead resistance, but i guess i should.

I reset the ECU as per my shop manual... remove the ECU fuse for 10 secs and replace. it was after this I checked the fault code and it was a steady light.

if it seems like it's turning way too fast i would try checking the compression of the cylinders... how do the plugs look? is it getting a nice energized blue looking spark when you hold it against the spark plug tube?

....the video might help

#137416 Hey, ive got my GFs dad coming round in the next few days to check the compression for me, I kind of hope that even though i really dont want to rip the engine apart, this is the problem as i really want to get started on fixing it.

when hes over, ill also check the plugs and leads. Xing my fingers.

#137499 Change out your ECU. I had the same problem. Open it up and check for burns or electrical smell.

not the 15 amp ECU fuse itself. u pull the one next to it 7.5 back up. LoL.. when you put it back in, it will give a lil spark dont be scared it's normal.

ok ih had this same problem with mines. It tuened out to be my dizzy., now witht he SOHC. the dizzy works in one way. one is correct and the other is wrong, take off the dizzy cap. not the wires leave them attach to the cap. pull them off the valve cover. make sure you know where they go. ok now pull the dizzy off the head. now when your doing this it's better to stand on the passenger side. turn the rotor HALF a turn towards the front of the car. keep in mind making a full turn will put you back where you started, and you dont wnt that. now just align the prongs properly with the camshaft and it should slide in smoothly. bolt it back up with the top screw at center of the dizzy mounting post. crank it up and let me know if it starts. it should.

seen you vid on youtube and it does the same as mines did..

and it's not your starter at all. if it was your starter, your engine would not turn at all. you would here multiple clicks in the engine bay and motor not turning..

hope this helps.. if anything you can email me at
