#130598 OK so I picked up a d16z6 to swap into my hatch, and am trying to change out all the belts before I drop it in. But how in the hell do I get the crank pulley off of this thing without the engine cranking? I wanted to get my new water pump and belts on before the weekend so I can go rafting and not worry about it when I get home, any help would be great. I have found a couple guides but they are all when the engine is installed in the car not when its out.

#130666 you need to stop the flywheel from turning and it should break lose with some elbow grease.

#139269 not he best way but if ur not goin to use power steering ne more take a chain wrench and hold the pulley still like that then get a breaker bar with a long pole and get one person to hold the pully still defintly not the right way to do it but it worked for me

#139273 There is actually a tool made for this. it fits into the crank pulley and has a hole in it for a ratchet and socket to go through. it holds the pulley in place and lets you loosen the bolt. WORKS wonders. Moroso makes it as well as alot of other places.
