hypothetical situation w/ engine oil

- Mon Aug 24, 2009 8:37 pm #139596 someone was telling me that when he changes his oil after he drains it he puts ATF in the engine and runs it a couple miles(cause ATF has alot of detergents in it) then he drains that and put motor oil in his car

ans thats wat i was thinking when i read the post about its thinner
but it never said if it was a auto trans or 5spd, i have motor oil in my trans
but some ppl have gear oil and some have atf in manuals.. idk
but im with graesedmonkey on this, i wouldnt be driving through a desert
and if i was i would make sure i had the prpoer tools and fulids if i did brake down or have a oil leak :thumb:
