#141432 so driving the car the other day the rod on piston three decides to give out. now im stuck with a bottom end that looks like someone through a baseball through. i pulled the motor out and head off to asses the damage. i wanna keep my d series and my z6 head so i sourced some eagle rods and arp rod bolts. i foud a few blocks but have never gone this far before. reading teals diy on determining rod and main bearing sizes makes me think this is a job for a professional. any suggestions? my plans include the jackson racing supercharger i jus purchased along with a full crower head kid.

its sucks...... blown to shit before i was blown to shit.

#141437 that sucks yo. how many miles did she have?

that Vtak must a popped hard :P ...jk. built bottom end and a jrsc on there should make it scoot pretty good

if you got the $$. have a shop do that block up. its the most vital part of your build and will determine how much power you can make.

#141454 Did the piston contact the valves at all? Why did it happen? It's kind of fun to do the tear down and see what may have caused it all...

If you are not comfortable with doing the bearings, then definitely have a shop do it. there's not much room for error :thumb:

#141706 there was a slight knock at low rpms that caught my ear so ive kinda been waitin for it to blow......... i always keep an eye on the oil. but besides that it was kinda spontaneous. mishimoto so it never really got close to overheating.
