#141877 Thats Awesome Girly...

Cutting the soda out will be HUGE. Im currently helping/supporting my wife as she tries to stop drinking soda. Just get some crystal light for a "backup" if you get an urge to have a soda. after a week or 2 off you wont even want one. and you'll have more money.

Its all about budgeting. write down the stuff you need for meals and snacks before you go to the store, buy in bulk, buy at local farmers markets (fruits/veggies cuz local is cheaper)

Keep us posted. So are you going to go to the gym more often now??

Training
If your busting out your set routine and totally in a grove Keep going and pushing untill you cant anymore. Dont just say "im doing 15 minutes of cardio each day" you have to push yourself to see results.

#141882 Im sure everyone has heard that eating more small meals/snacks a day is better than the traditional "3 meals a day".

This is because eating smaller portions throughout the day keeps your metabolism revved up. If you dont eat for a given amount of time your body will go into "starvation mode" with slows you metabolism pretty rapidly. This could mean the difference between losing 2.5 lbs/wk to 1.4lbs per week.

Eat healthy smaller meals more often lose weight. Add some cardio and you'll be shedding lbs 8)

Yeah I plan on trying to cut out all the soda but it's going to be hard lol. That's good that you're supporting your wife :thumb: Isn't cyrstal light kinda pricey though? What kind do you get, the kid of water bottles or for a pitcher? I'll probably try to get some of that. haha I don't even know where a local farmers market is around here. I usually just go to walmart to get everything cause it usually ends up being the cheapest.

I'm going to try to go to the gym and work out for at least an hour everyday..well 30-hour. But I'm probably going to try to do 30 minutes walking on a treadmill and maybe do the other 30 minutes lifting weights..Believe it or not I use to actually be able to lift 110 bench pressing. I was the only girl in my weight lifting class in high school that could do that much. One girl couldn't even do that bar!

Guess I better start eating small meals/snacks. All I've had today was a half of a sandwich. A piece of bread folded over with a little mustard, one slice of cheese and two slices of thin turkey. Are cherrios good to eat as a snake? Like I said, we're broke over here and basically all that's in the place to eat is rice, top ramen, chicken noddle soup and some cereal minus milk. lol. I can't wait till our friend brings us her george foreman grill..I'm definitely going to br grilling some chicken on it :)

#141889 so having a small cup of cheerios..no milk or anything..as a snack is alright? haha oh..My friend in Cali is supposed to send me this book so I should be getting it Monday but it's called SKINNY BITCH. It's about these two models and they don't sugar coat anything. They just tell you what you shouldn't eat and stuff. My friend says she lives by the book. Figured it was worth reading so I should be getting that on Monday. Maybe it will kick my butt into gear lol.

#141892 Cheerios is a decent snack. If you want something healthy to curb your hunger for a bit. Roll peanut butter in some oats and a lil honey and have yourself some peanut/oat/honey balls :). (its better to get the natural peanut butter but the other is fine as well)

Portion control. Dont just snack non stop all day on cheerios. :P

I like the pink lemondade crystal light BUT i normally get the special K protein waters (strawberry/kiwi) they both cost a bit much BUT i dont drink it regularly, only when i have a craving for something other than water.

#141894 like I said..not much to eat in this house so I figure cheerios for a snack is better than fritos. I only had a small cup full of them. I'd say that's pretty good for me today since I've only had that and a half of a sandwich :P I'm not a big cheerios fan anyway, so I doubt I'll be snaking away on them all day..ick

Nothing will kick your butt into gear except YOU. Too many people say "I'll start on monday" well mondays just keep on passing them by! Eating healthy isn't a "diet" its a life style. You cant just eat right for a month or two and think cuz you lost weight and feel great that you can eat whatever. You have to stick to it otherwise, whats the point.

GL with it and remember DIET is the most important part of being healthy. You want abs... eat right and cardio cardio cardio 8)

Really you can always have a cheat day (once a weeks, once a month, you choose)

Gatorade and poweraid are full of sugar/high fructose corn syrup. Drinkin them all the time is as bad as drinkin soda all the time IMO. BUT i get me a Powerade ZERO everyonce in a while.

Look up some core excercises. I posted a link somewhere in this thread with some good ones. You really have to work to lose a gut. Thats what im trying to lose. Diet is most important, then excercises!
