#142009 okay im about to embark on a d to b swap. I have an EG 8 civic which has a d15b jdm motor in it and im swapping for a b16a gen 2. my questions are

-do i need to change my mounts and axles?
-do i have to diy any part of the loom?
-what do i need to know when doing it?

#142088 you should post this in the b series forum.

but i can help you. basicly you need to go to the junk yard and rape an integra there. the drivers side bracket,front tranny torque mount and rear mount need to be changed to B series so grab those. also your going to need a transmission ( if it didnt come with your motot) and axels. also your going to need a ECU, which should come with your motor.

for wiring , if u got a OBD-I motor you should just have to wire up vtec and mabey some other sensor. most likley less then 5 wires.

easy swap if you have all the parts around. but why get rid of the jdm d15b. its a great motor to build on

#142158 Alright i have the ecu, engine loom (which im sure is an obd2 and d15 is obd1 right?), tranny. SO im needing the mounts and axles. With the mounts cant i use the d series ones? or are they too weak to hold the b series?

And also, does anybody know how to wire up a knock sensor cos im sure that d series dont have one and the other wires i have to diy should be straight forward right? Like i dont have to go out and buy another extra loom?

#142160 better to keep it OBD-I. also not knowing too much about b16's. what kind do you got. is it just a b16a. or is a b16a followed by a number. Id convert it to OBD-I. if it already istn. your stock engine harness should work.

for your wiring. like knock sensor and vtec. just follow this guide

that should be the only wiring done manual. the rest should be plug and play.

I say should alot because im not 100% certain, but im pretty shure. some one correct me if im wrong

#142184 Okay i just picked up the engine and the guy said it was an obd 1 b16a2. I thought b16a2's only came obd 2, correct me if im wrong. So since its a b16a2 odb1, im not going to need to do too much splicing and etc right? What wires do i have to add except for the knock sensor?

Also cant i use the vtec wire from the d15b?

You probably got the EDM VTI or Del sol b16.
as for the wiring. i forgot that the JDM d15 is vtec so yah you can use those wires. In the previouse post were i posted a pic of the ecu. just follow the guide and re wire only the pins that are highlighted Red.

#142218 how complete is the engine? did he give you mounts and what not? its should drop right in

#142273 Well im going to get some newer mounts in just incase, its got p30 ecu, engine loom, TB, alternator, one axle (the other broke), thats all i can think of right now. But it all looks pretty complete
