#143562 I have a 95 hatch that I bought (@ 3 AM) long drive. I didnt realize the moldings were shaved. any input or pics? i mean the whole thing is shaved flush to the door.

#143563 I personally dont like it. It takes away from the hatch. I would sand it down see if it were just bondo'd or actuall welded. Then I would proceed to remove whatever they used to fill in the molding.

Pics?

#143572 let me get my camera straightened out. its not under paint and I highly doubt the guy I got from did it the right way. its most likely bondo. thats just a bitch to sand out

#143625 Bondo'ing it is ghetto as all hell, regardless of time/effort/how good you are. It will not last. Body filler is only meant to GLAZE MINOR IMPERFECTIONS.

If it is like you think, Bondo. That will be an easy fix, It will chip out and just use some rough sand paper to get the rest.

"Chance" is exactly right. It shouldnt be that hard to remove. Time consuming, maybe... And "Chance" was definately right about "ikon"s comment. Anyone who knows about body work should know that bondo is not made to fill in body lines like that. Over time and opening and closing the door the bondo will start cracking and youll see it through the paint until it eventually starts to fall out. That is terrible body work!

 i went to school for body work and do body work aswell and im sorry but your ''boys'' should be slapped... body filler is only suposed to be no more than the thickness of a dime.... if more it will chip crack and fall off that is just what shitty body men and retards that dont know what they are doing do... i always go off on these rants because i cant figure out why people ghetto rig their shit... take your time do your metal work and ''fix'' it right dont go slapping body filler all over stuff if you dont know wtf you are doing... :x i hope some people learn from this :thumb:

#144020 so I went out to my dads today to swap out my trans (details on that in trans thread) and completely forgot to take my camera but got the bad news. ITS BONDO. I may just paint and sell it I really dont want to mess with that shit. I dont have the time for that.

#144093 It really wont be that hard to remove and shouldnt be too time consuming. If the rest of the hatch is in good shape and you like the car, Just Do work son, especially if your going to be painting it anyway.
