#144072 ok i have coming home tonight and i was in the fast lane going with the traffic in front of me (he was going 100mph for like 20mils) and i drive close to cars all the time, i was about 25-30 feet from the car and i get pulled over thinking it was going to be for speeding. the CHP says, "it looked like you were trying to race the car or run them off the road"...i was just trying to get home so make some food for my girl, thats all. i really didnt think i was doing any thing wrong (besides doing 100mph in a 75mph zone) i also didnt know that being far anuff away form the car to see the whole car and a lot of the floor was tailgating...
:x
heres my question: what do i do? Fight it? or just pay it? or pay it and going to traffic skool?? This is my 1st ticket so i really dont know what to do and really dont have much money. i need some input

ps i live in cali

#144081 30 feet behind while doing 100mph is asking to die to be honest, that's way too fucking close, so i can completely understand why they pulled you over.

Just pay it and get it done with

#144090 I was cruising at 100+ in my truck back in the day.. well a truck came up on my ass like i was in his way.. riding me for a while, so what do we all do.. break check.
Well that was one of the worst things I could have done, I can still see it now. The truck swerved to the right lane to try and go around me, lost control squeeled going accross 3 more of the right lanes until he started going up the embankment and hit an Exit sign pole. His (im still assuming it was a he) truck spun at least 4 times up farther onto the embankment. The whole passenger side demolished, and I really mean demolished like GONE.

The next day. There were a couple cross's ontop that embankment where this happened. I was to chicken to go look at the cross's to see dates/names.

Im almost certain the way the dude was driving he was more than likely drunk But That is something I'll never forget. Then shit happened that night that was just as intense. (saved a girl) But thats besides the point.

Sorry just felt like sharing. I've only told a few people about this. (it was over 5 years ago.) I lived on soma's an beer for a while after that, couldnt stop thinking about it.

#144118 in MD, as long as you realize what you did, and are genuinely sorry, First time is always Probation Before Judgement. But your in hardass Cali, so just pay it and go to school IMO

#144144 Fighting tickets is a really hard thing to get away with. My mom has gotten past one before. Ive tried to fight them but it really gets you no where. Chances are the judge will already reem you a new ass for doin that so just accept it, apologize or whatever and plead guilty bro. Its honestly the best way out. That way theres no hard feelings and WHEN you return to the judge ( :P ) hes not a hardass on you.

#144269 ^^^lol me too! last time I got pulled over for tint I went to jail. apparently driving on suspended...again lol got out shortly after.

its like that old saying.. "hurry up and wait", you get caught at a light or in your case got a ticket so it actually took you longer to get home. lucky you didnt get reckless driving. eat it and go on with your life hopefully learning a lesson. :thumb:

next time leave some more space... they say at least 10 ft for every 10 MPH or something like that.

2 seconds minimum following distance is what I was taught, and it cuts out the bullshit of trying to figure out stuff like 10ft per 10mph.

I leave lots of room in front of me. More time to react, and if I do have to brake I can do it in less of a rush so I don't have to worry about the guy behind me slamming into me.

#144764 that's kind of rediculous man, i leave a HUGE cushion even when i'm going 50mph, you never know what's going to happen cause people in front of you are retarded and not worth crashing into.. just pay the ticket and see if you can goto a class

chance dude, that sucks/scary man, i imagine you don't break check that often huh? when people do that i let them tailgate me for a while then get over but that would be just awful to see

#144767 It was intense to say the least. Um.. I wouldnt say I "dont" do it anymore. Less often yes BUT some deserve it. I aimed my rear window squirter up to shoot straight out... I use that more often then break checking.
