I have an almost perfect carpet from my coupe parts car and a nasty disgusting beyond shampooing carpet in my sedan beater. Who has done it? Does the holes for the seatbelts and seats line up?

- Wed Sep 02, 2009 12:06 am #141114 it will fit. just on the sedan you wont have the plastic piece stapled to the carpet like how it would on the 4dr carpet. but i did the vise versa sedan carpet in a hatch

Great! I figured the plastic pieces wouldn't line up, but wasn't sure if the seat belt holes would match up.

- Wed Sep 02, 2009 2:09 am #141123 everything lined up on my factory carpet from my LX into my Si hatch. and it worked fine. it was a tad long in my hatch but it wasnt noticeably long but it was just a tad.

- Wed Sep 02, 2009 3:12 am #141140 Good now i just have to figure out how to remove the sill plates without breaking them. I tried on one of them in the sedan and the studs under that click into the carpet plastic snapped off, opps.

- Tue Sep 22, 2009 1:02 am #145709 So I did the carpet swap today, I put a mint black coupe carpet in my 1995 Sedan. A couple notes for anyone else doing this swap.

The sedan has floor vents for the back seat that the coupe does not. They hug the floor tunnel sides on both sides of the shifter. The coupe carpet will not hug the floor perfectly, but it'll fit just fine.

All the holes line up perfectly, besides the floor vents. You will have to cut slots for the vents under the front seats, easily accomplished with a sharp utility knife.

The sill plates are attached to a white plastic piece that is stapled to the carpet, I just pulled the staples off the sedan pieces, installed them in the car, and pushed the carpet in the slot between the sill plates and the plastic piece. If you have a heavy duty stapler I suggest using it to attach the carpet the OEM way. The sedan carpet also has hooks attached that slip over the seat belt bosses in the B-pillar. I didn't transfer these over, but I would suggest it if you have the stapler. The B-pillar cover should hold the carpet fairly tight.
