im no expert on car fuel systems, but on houshold well and pump systems if there is a pressure leak or the pump is on its way out you have to prime it your self, maybe push starting your car is helping suck the fuel in rather than the car primeing its self, other than getting your battery,alt,starter checked out, this is all i got bro. how is your fuel pressure?

well, do you have pressure at the fuel rail, after constant cranking are the plugs even wet?

if it fires when jumped, then your problem is electrical, worth a try.

idk either, thats why i would have every thing checked, auto parts stores do it for free.

Check for spark, you can do it with a timing light(what I use) or having the spark plug next to something metal, such as a nut and see it spark off that.

did you happen to have your distributor replace? if so what was the reason, cant rule it out, maybe it has a weak coil as already sugested.
