Well I'm planning on having my car painted this weekend. Then I'll have a week to do interior mods because a long trip to Pittsburgh. While I was in the building cleaning up, I saw a box of 6x9 speakers I had bought for around $75 nearly 2 years ago that I haven't even opened yet. They are Sony Xplod, 240W. I'm wanting to keep the car as budget as possible to help keep money in my savings for a house loan, but I figured a little custom mod using these speakers will suit the $350 cd player I just bought to replace the one stolen when the car was broken in to.
So how could I do something like this? I was thinking the easiest would be to just cut out a whole in a flat are on one of the back panels, and using bolts/nuts to fasten the speaker to it, but I'm afraid that it might vibrate and sound bad.
I do have a welder, so I could do some welding if it's required and not too hard/dangerous to do, but I'd love to keep it as simple as possible and I do not want the speakers in a box just laying around.
