Cleaned IACV, d16z6 revving

- Wed Oct 28, 2009 3:05 am #153277 I just put another 105k mile d16z6 in my 94 si, the motor was originally out of a 93 ex auto. The engine revs when idle, but only once it's warmed up to a little under halfway on the temp gauge. It revs between about 800 and 1200 rpm (although it varies, sometimes it's more like 900 and 1300). If I let it idle for about 5 minutes, it will go to a stable idle at around 1100rpm. So far, I've reset the computer (disconnected battery for ~10min), cleaned and swapped in the IACV from the old motor, and swapped the entire throttle body (including the thing on the bottom of it). I've also checked that the antifreeze is topped off, and I've been searching for cracked vacuum lines, but haven't found any. Anyone have any suggestions?

- Wed Oct 28, 2009 4:24 am #153291 thing on the bottom of the throttle body is the fast idle thermal valve, clean it, spray water around the throttle body gasket and intake manifold gasket and check for differences in idle.
