#157479 Car: 1994 Honda Civic EX coupe. Okay so according to my brother, He was going about 70-75 on a highway in town and the car shutoff as he was driving. He thought he went out of gear so he proceeded to downshift. The car downshifted the gears without any problems. He pulled over on the side road, and the car was off. When he tried to start the car the engine will crank, but wont start now. We had the car flatbedded back to the house and im running out of possiblities of what could of happened. Any ideas???

The Fuel Pump engages when key turned. Havent quite grasped the whole main relay clicking, but i do hear clicking by the pedal assembly (fuse box) Is there any other way to check this? How do i check if im getting spark?
And as far as checking if im receiving fuel i would also want to figure out how to go about checking that

Plz help thnks

#157482 Sounds exactly like what happened to me when my problems started.

to test spark pull one of your plugs out and put it in the black tube thing (like it was still inside ur engine.) put in near a grounded piece of metal such as your frame.

#157589 well today i tested the spark plugs and im not getting any spark. I'm guessing the distributor is bad. Everything else engages (main relay, fuel pump)

#157591 id do what teal suggested. if your t belt snapped it wont turn the dizzy and you wont get spark. pop the valve cover nuts off and lift it enought to get the timming cover off and see if yer belt is still in tact. if it is then it might be a component of the dizzy.

#157769 Something similar happened to me in my friends EM1,

Cruising along about 55mph and the car just suddenly died.

Car turned over and i was getting fuel through the the fuel filter.

Took one of my spark plug wires out and held it close to the valve cover and tried cranking the car over and got no spark.

Opened up my distributor and my coil was in about 5 peaces.

Threw a new one in and the car started right up like a champ.

Also check what teal said, but i'd check the dizzy first, just take the cap off and make sure everything looks ok.

#158154 as an extension of what teal said is you can have a buddy look at your head through the oil cap and see if any of the valve train is moving, that would tell you as well if you timing belt snapped without taking it all apart
