- Fri Nov 20, 2009 4:13 pm #157498 Sup guys Im having an issue on swaping my obd1 intake mani with a obd2 mani from a D16y8 Mani. First of all how do I get to the lower center bolt and wat tool should I use. Also should i remove the mani bracket??? let me know if u need more info.

- Tue Nov 24, 2009 2:14 pm #158155 gotta act like gumby and get your arm twisted back behind the intake mani, use a extension and a deep socket is what i had good luck with, also that intake mani bracket is there just to support the intake manifold, pretty much a useless piece of metal if you ask me, you can take it off and not worry about anything

if you have a tiny wrench, you may be able to crack that one bolt loose first, then spin it off with your finger.

- Tue Nov 24, 2009 9:50 pm #158230 the lower center bolt on the intake mani is a bitch to say the least. I used a 3/8'' breaker bar and a 12mm socket to take it off. The ratchet had too large of a head to be able to get the nut turned without being crooked and on the point of stripping.

- Wed Nov 25, 2009 9:33 am #158343 use a 1/4 in socket with an extension through the middle hole on the manifold.. there is a little space to c the bolt next to the block if u use a flashlight. that way u dont have to perform a reach around

single slammer = one cam of fury.

- Thu Nov 26, 2009 8:49 pm #158566 wait till you put it back on ;) Try a long extension and a deep socket. You will get it! Have a few spare intake manifold bolts handy because you are guaranteed to drop a few!

- Thu Nov 26, 2009 10:47 pm #158574 Thanks everybody i went to harbor freight tools and well lets say the PHUCKIN extension i got had a big head and narrow neck so I was PHUCKED lol so i put my hatch on jack stands and got the bolt from under the car also i took those useless brackets off. I did a mani swap So if u guys have done one let me know I posted a new topic on "obd2 d16y8 mani question" thanks for th help.
