But people do like it.

jdm d15b is good, too, just a destroked z6. mostly z6 parts.
only pistons and crank are different, and in a d15 block. $500 from most imprters. :thumb:
but u cannot get pistons in US for jdm d15b :thumbdown:
but vitaras will work...
vtec ZC is a jdm Z6, part for part = d16z6.
dohc zc is hard to get parts for, obd0 :thumbdown: more conversation piece than performance motor.
d16a6 bottom end equals d15z6, all parts interchangeable. head is same as d15b7/2/8(16valve) with a better cam. OBD0.

- Tue Jan 05, 2010 3:24 am #165836 the d16z6 has a much bigger aftermarket following. Finding aftermarket cams for the D16a1(DOHC ZC) will be much harder then on the D16z6.

I personally like the d16z6 myself, It would be the only D Series, Besides possible a JDM version of it, In one of my cars.

If your into honda d series and youve replaced a few here and there maybe looked at the heads a bit rebuilt one id suggest going with a dohc zc its a 1.6l non vtec (i dont much like vtec dont ask long story) yea ecus for it are difficult to find but there is a few nice sites out there which can help you find the parts for the dohc zc...

yea parts of coarse are going to be difficult to find aftermarket that is oem parts are somewhat easy to find just gotta go to a forum such as thezcr.com or soemthign like that d-series.org will help a bit too since they have the dohc zc area of the forum....the dohc zc uses parts from many different motors from the b series to teh d series and i think im not sure about this my memories not so good remembering exactly what motors but you may be able to use h and f parts as well......

either one is good.

Also the dohc zc came in obd0 and obd1 the obd0's are more common since there where more than just the 88-91 civics with them in there. and thats what you have to watch out for if you go for one of them. the pre -88 dohc d's such as the d16a1 will not work due to teh drivers side mount set-up.

now the z6 its good great aftermarket calling as well as other sohc d's but to be honest i just like the dohc zc for some reason its not just for show has just about the same hp as the z6 without vtec and they are good motors to boost on.

- Tue Jan 05, 2010 2:14 pm #165931 ok cool....but what if im just lookin to ride not do all this aftermarket stuff....im in it more for the looks of the cars not racing? i mean i already have a oem rebuilt d16z6...still workin the bugs out which is startin to piss me off....and i can get if im not mistake a obd1 dohc zc....only problem is i dont kno if it running
