#165880 give me a late christmas present lol i want that damn steering wheel

but yea overall looks like you have a nice project going

if your inner wheel wells where rotted a bit a friend gave me the idea of getting a junk fender and use it what you do is cut to where you need and use the drivers side from for the passenger side rear and same for the passenger side front for the drivers side rear once you fix the rust youll be well on your way since rust is probaly our cars #1 killer other than well ricers and street racing....

There are a few other things you may want to consider interior wise
-oem clock everyone has them so they are easy to find
-to me the civic shift knob seemed a bit too plastic if it dosent bother you then keep it
-Give me your steering wheel
:D Please .....i can trade you for the usdm one with the airbag in good condition or even an aftermarket steering hub adapter with some money added lol

-your guage cluster is fine and all but id suggest getting a ex/si/lx/vx cluster with a tach they pop right in and are prewired i have one if you may want to work out a deal for the steering wheel lol im going to keep trying(dont worry about kph and mph you can switch the speedos out)

-lets see here maybe upgrade your stereo deck but dont trash your honda deck you can take the faceplate off and make a fake faceplate so people dont think you have a aftermarket radio

some advice on your brakes id definately suggest since the cars not on the road yet to get some rear disc brakes and do a conversion i mean drums are fine but are a bitch in a half to replace the pads i prefer disc. really its preference to be honest.....

motor wise you have a decent base in there already you can do one of two things keep it as is and just do a header, intake, and exhasut or do a mini me swap which will not only add power due to compression but allow you the capabilities of vtec. and then do a h/i/e.....id say for now keep your d series motor since they are easily found if you accidently blow it up or grind a gear horribly the bseries are harder to find but allow for more power yet. given the price tag you may want to just put that money into something else. maybe a Turbo :hehe:

but yea besides that other advice i can give you
dont go to big on the rims the bigger the rim the more your motor has to work in order for the wheel to make one revolution meaning your car will be slower with 17's if it had 14's or 15's same goes for the brakes but unless you plan on autocrossing i dont see you needing anything larger than the dx brakes.....

sky's the limit really for hondas build it to your desires and what not.

depending on what you plan overall on doing to it i.e. drag, autocross, shows etc you will do different things

my car is a daily driver but i built it for autocross so it dose both pretty well still working on her so yea....its all in the end up to you
so how about you send me that steering wheel lol

#165891 Thats a good idea I never thought about using fenders for that. I dont understand whats so special about my steering wheel lol :? , yeah its slowly comming along will be nice when its finally on the road. I might be able to get my hands on a steering wheel like that if you are serious? What is so special about it lol

Thanks for the helpful reply

for everyone thats not in the usa nothing is too special about it but all the usdm cars got where 4spoke ugly airbag wheels.....i got rid of my airbag set-up and have been looking for that exact steering wheel (black) for ages well at least a good year lol...best i could do is a prelude steering wheel which dosent allow me to use my steering colum cover which i want to use lol....and yea im definately serious about that steering wheel and if you can get the horn prong for it too thatd be sweet.....

but yea that steering wheel is rare in the usa so thats why its hard to get here. im mainly looking at it from a style standpoint along with a stock oem kinda thing......

also if you are unable to find a tach you may be able to get a tach from a volvo which is small enough to hide somewhere.....and well they came in i think 84+ i know 93 on down will have them depending on the model you just have to look since some cars have them some dont.

and you can just tap into teh blue wire behind the cluster.....

my other suggestion since you seem pretty handy with sheet metal if you dont have one make a bracket for rear speakers so it will look stockish...i have a set of rear speaker panels as well but yea lol its up to you....

rare stuff to keep an eye out for
3-spoke honda eg steering wheel
-rear deck lid--cargo cover--
rear speaker set-up
a gathers civic interior (you may actually see this in the junkyard if so id grab it those interiors are sweet. they come in 20th anniversary civics and some others all and all if you go to the junkyard keep your eyes peeled.
-the center console peice that can relocate teh stereo and connect the dash to the center console.(going to be very difficult and rare)
-of coarse the cluster with teh tach in it as well
-other stuff would be motor swaps and ecus but thats really another large list....

Forgot to mention you could see about snagging some ex/si door map pockets they are easily put in and allow you to have a bit more storage.....

And i retrofitted a ek (96-00) civic center console into my car i can give you advice on how to do it and what is needed if you want to do something custom and such......you could even do a integra center console but that leaves a rather large gap

ohhh and heres a picture of that tach the volvo one

I have two cargo covers and rear speaker set ups. Both my cars came with them.

The steering wheel was also stock on Canadian model cars, so start your look up there.

Gathers interior came in most if not all SIR2 cars and VTI cars with b16a. There are from what I have seen, a Blue, yellow, black, black/purple and grey/purple color combos for it.
