#167509 just around the crack .. but depends on what you wanna do really..

if you wanna paint it its easier to do the whole panel that way you wont have trouble trying to blend in the new paint but you can always do the little section if the person that is painting it knows how to do it

#167538 Cheers for that, but painting over rust, there will still be rust isn't it? What can I use to kill the rust? Is there any spray for rust protection or something?

#167568 If you're new to it, you'll make a mess - trust me! I did haha

It need sanded back to bare metal to get rid of the rust, primed and then painted. Only the bare metal areas where the rust was will need primed, then the colour needs to be blended into the existing paint so that you wont notice a difference in shade, and the whole panel will need clearcoat

#167571 ^^^ correct and the ONLY way to stop rust is to sand all the way down to metal or get rid of that section of metal all together

#167621 depending on how close it actually is to the window and how the rust looks, i would pull the window, fix/repair your area, respray the the quarter (blend the base, reclear the whole panel) and reassemble
