d series intake manifold question

- Fri Jan 15, 2010 7:09 am #168638 is there a difference between the d15 and d16 manifold? i am in the process of getting parts to do a mini me swap with a d16z6 and i cant seem to see a difference in the intakes even tho i read that the d16 one flow better.

- Fri Jan 15, 2010 7:16 am #168640 D16z6 intake manifold has larger piping, the d15b7 has smaller pipping.

Both intake manifolds have the same bolt pattern they are interchangable.

the d15z1 intake manifold is a smaller bolt pattern similar to the pre88 d series. All other 88-00 D Series intake manifolds should be interchangable.

- Sun Jan 17, 2010 7:12 pm #169064 when i did the swap and switched manifolds i found i had an extra line out of the manifold for coolant that didnt have a hose,
i did some searching and...

i found that i had to make a T joint into the other existing coolant hose coming up from the top of the vavle cover.

other than that they are very similar.
