My First Civic

- Mon Jan 18, 2010 3:51 pm #169246 Hey there, I'm new to the forum world, and this is the second post I've ever posted in any forum. I recently got my 95 Civic DX with 102k miles (In November) and am in love with it. I never thought I'd end up with one, because they are way too common, but I got a good deal on it and couldn't pass it up! Well, here are a few pics for now. Mostly stock. I'm not too familiar with the Honda world, but I have a general idea of what I want. I want to do a GSR swap, get some interior goodies (JDM Audio Console, Arm Rest, etc), put a black spoon spoiler on it, get some type r lips, do some body work, get some mud flaps, and eventually either get some black rims or some gold rims and amber corners. So far, I've put in an alarm, the black corners, black foggies, and dash clock (Not much, I know). I've been browsing this site since I got it, and its pretty good. I'd like to know if you guys have any suggestions, comments, or anything else for me. Thanks

two if i where you id lower it a bit lol but yea ummm just wondering what are your overall plans to use it as...since this would help us help you decide the best route....ie. dd , autox drag etc

what motor do you have in it now?

I don't wanna race, but I'd like to be able to quickly shift down to fourth and pass the jerk in the Neon in front of me. I was driving home from the mall with my girlfriend one day, and a slick black Neon pulls up next to me and starts making sounds. I hear turbo, a nice exhaust, and what sounds like a beastly engine. I'm guessing he thought my car wasn't stock, but he was wrong. She was like "Felix, why doesn't your car make sounds?" It was not a good day, lol. But yeah, I just want a nice enjoyable ride nothing too crazy I guess. Using it as my daily driver. I asked a few friends and they said a B18 would do the job. What do you guys think? Oh yeah, and I gotta get new rims before I lower it. As it sits right now, my rear wheels scrape a bit when I hit a bump or take a fast exit, and my city has horrible roads [smilie=BangHead.gif]

Looking at Your brakes i thik U have EG4 1.5l. Your friends give U good advice B18C4 do the job ;]

- Mon Jan 18, 2010 11:41 pm #169353 well if i where you id probaly do the body work first and debate what motor would be best because each honda motor is unique and yea...

if you want you could turbo a d series motor and put 7psi of boost and a small tune on it and that should easily do you decently for what you want to me b series yea they have the power and torque over the d series but you can just as easily put some money into a d series and get what you want out of it...

your best bet is do the body work...

if you do have a d15 in there id get a ex or si trans from a d16z6 or sohc zc depending on where you are located....

getting a short geared transmission would be the best idea this will give you the pull you want to pass that jerk....even if you keep the 1.5l motor

now you can do a homemade turbo if you have a junkyard near you or someway to get cheap parts that you can use to peice together etc....now ive thought about a turbo as well and it all depends on who you know as well what shops are near you etc.

but like i said first id go with body work because once you get that done you will be adding to the value of your car and since once rust starts unless you stop it then its just gonna get worse....

hood wise id look into a lighter carbon fiber, dry carbon, or fiberglass hood since the stock hood is heavy as heck and lowering the weight increases gas mileage, accelleration etc....

I never realized that I was automatically placed in a Civic owners club once I bought one. Its like I notice all of them, and they all grill me when I'm driving down the street :?.

Anyhoo, I think I might go the Turbo route. Would I have to rebuild my engine? What else would I have to do? Sorry for all the questions. I'm new to this, and the search function gives me too many unrelated results, added on to the fact that I don't know what to search for :P

Neon Starts making sounds hehe Thats cus its a Shitty Neon haha
You want to have a nice sound , then you talk about turbo
Keep the Car NA , you get some much "harder" sound
And whats up whit that thing , that you dont even know what Enigne you have ,, Thats Funny man :lol:
