well i say it probaly would be nice to have a dohc motor to be honest ....
ummm do you have p/s since thatd probaly be a pain to do i think with the b series....but yea anyhow
if you did plan on selling the d series internals you may be surprized im almost certain the b series stuff will be a higher cost....i know the clutch is definately going to be higher than the d series it is at least at my local parts store....and axels will be as well but im not completely positive on that one....
but id say if you have the money and your willing to pop the motor outa your ef then i guess id go ahead and flip back to the b16 instead of the d16.....youll feel vtec more i know that but im still not certain about the strenght of that block and internals even when the rods are strengthend....i do beleive the ls motor is one of the better b-motors for boost. but yea to be honest there are pros and cons of each to turbo it yea the tune is going to probaly cost the same but id go ahead and make a list of what you want yea 300hp is a start but what else fuel mileage reliability, etc.....it may actually be better to go with the b series because already its up there in hp and you may not have to boost it as much as you would the z6 to obtain the 300hp mark....which i think would improve reliability ....
also the motor isnt the only peice in the puzzle the stuff you use to turbo your car will also play a factor in the hp numbers a t25 turbo will not suffice lol i guess a hybrid t3/t4 might get the job done btu maybe the t3 will suffice......
and intercooler wise normally the larger you get the better in a way more surface area for the air to hit and cool down that hot spooled up air and colder air =more hp etc....
you will also want to upgrade your injectors but im sure you already knew that
well ill leave you with that much info im trying to throw everythign i can think of out there to help so may be a jumbled mess idk hopefully it helps...
