ok ive been told a few times but i can never seem to remember.....how can i set timing without useing a timing light or is there a post for this already...and i have a d16z6.....when i say timing i dont mean by the distributor im talking about like when you change the timing belt

On the cam gear it says up make sure that is on top if had a pic it would make it easier to tell you

well not sure on that but if you are replacing the belt, then rent a timing gun from the auto store your buing the belt at.

to set ignition timing, you need a timing light and a lower timing belt cover.
to set cam timing, you need to make sure the crank and cam are set with cylinder #1 at top dead center.

if you are not sure. there is a mark on the timing cover and i think on the oil pump it self where you need to line the marks up.
