The electronic load detector is a sensor built into your under-hood fuse box that detects when your place a heavy electronic load on the alternator, ie head lights, brights, blower motor. When it detects a heavy load, it adjusts the ignition timing and idle motor to prevent your alternator from stalling your engine, similar to the power steering pressure sensor and the AC idle-up function.

although the ELD can be removed from bottom of the fuse box, honda does not sell just the ELD, only the whole fuse box. I think only US cars had the ELD, maybe EDM. japanese did not have the ELD.
From experience, there can be other problems in the charging system that will cause the ELD code, such as bad wiring.
Did you do anything recently?
