smoking exhaust manifold HALP! with video..

went to start my car up and noticed my exhaust manifold was smoking?
like someone put water on it when it was hot
i figured it was still some left over cleaner so i let it warm up and it still smoked.
obviously something is burning thats not supposed to be.
oil or coolant? pretty sure i didnt mix up any coolant lines. almost positive.

could it be my valve seals or something, because i did remove my valve cover? could it be letting in oil and then burning out through my mani?

and i may be a bit of an idiot because i took a closer look and the manifold has a noticeable crack in it :thumbdown:
haha so that may be why. i think?
it seemed more like steam or something than exhaust fumes.

oh well time for a new header!! :woot:

Coolant spilled on the header will take a lil bit to burn off, if thats in fact what it is. But yeah, for sure, you need a new header. :thumb:

- Thu Mar 18, 2010 6:01 pm #182108 if you clean your engine with them nasty chem, you will get some burn off gases. Drive it around for a day and check to see if it is still giving the smell.

But then again, it doesn't hurt to get new parts :thumb:

somehow i lost power?
i step on it and it just lags out
im guessing my timing was off
im going to set it to TDC and see what happens

i thought it was linked to that smoke but not anymore. :?

didnt take anything off except for the valve cover and FITV to clean
i had that shifty idle thats why i cleaned that valve.

feels like my timings off?

i set it to TDC then started up and it was worse!
step on the gas and it almost wants to stall.

i had another civic to that to me, turned out a bad dizzy. i i just got a new dizzy, cap and rotor on it? AHhhh!!!H!QL!UP*!JW :x
