#186714 Nice. I would say you got a good deal. Is it a D15b vtec or just a D15b non-vtec because I usually refer to mine as a d15b7 but I have a jdm D15b non-vtec in it.

I thought there wasn't much of a difference in hp. The wikipedia article is wrong in my opinion because the non vtec doesn't produce the same power as the vtec one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_D_engine#D15B I could be wrong though. I can't tell much difference between power from when I had the d15b7 and the d15b it has in it now.

Also http://got-jdm.com/92-93-94-95-jdm-d15- ... -p-33.html (not too sure about the site, wouldnt buy from it but just using it for the number examples) has the d15b listed as 106 hp which is 4 or so more than the d15b7. (just rambling here :) )

But I concur, saying you have a jdm motor sounds way cooler :D

VTEC in a stock single cam doesn't "kick" like it does in the DOHC ... hell even in my slightly modified D-series it doesn't "kick" and in reality it shouldn't ... it's supposed to be a seamless change over. I can beat the piss out of my engine all I want and I will never feel VTEC engage.

Also to OP where are the spark plugs ... if they are on the exhaust side (font of the engine) you have the VTEC engine (but which one, there is the VTEC-E engine which is also labeled D15B in Japan if I'm not mistaken) ... if not ... sorry you has JDM d15 non-vtec (which is pretty much the same as the b7).

#186829 Funny - there's a D15B at the local junkyard ... it must be JDM. Not very exciting though - it's non-VTEC. I used the same method to ID it as the poster above ... spark plugs are on the back side. Meh.

#187164 The JDM D15B non VTEC does not make 130 hp. It makes the same power as the usdm non VTEC.
