#187994 yeah thats what i thought it was, but everything is the where it should be.
i have all vacuum, coolant lines and plugs were they should go.
i think my problem lies within the timing? would that cause it?

#187995 hum not sure. now you pluge the map sensor into the throttlew body right. cause the map sensor for the d series is right on the fuel filter and wont work. i had that problem at first. then as soon as a switched em up it was fine....

#188000 my engine did not come with a throttle body so i pulled one from the yard.
bolted it on and attached the 2 plugs and hoses.

what do you mean the D series one is on the fuel filter?

#188014 WELL F{}(K ME!
just pulled out all the plugs and #s 3 and 4 were covered in oil!
Both top and bottom!
Please dont tell me i did all this work to install an engine with a blown gasket!
:x
could it be the valve seals? because it was full of oil on the top of the plug where the wire goes onto.

and well if it is my gasket, i have a B16 head waiting to go on.
but will i need that oil feed line? or can i install the head then later do t he oil line? :?

dont adjust your timing belt for your dist. to line up... it can only go one way, for the sake of me explaining this the thing with the 2 teeth on it well call the dist gear, the gear can only go one way, if it wont like up turn it 180 and try agin, you may need to tap with a rubber mallot, i have see the oil seal cause a snug fit? hope this helps?

#188147 no sorry, i dont quite get it.
i would say that right now my dizzy is 15 degrees off where it should bolt in.
and thats were it starts up.

i want to know if i have the wrong dizzy? or if i move the timing belt forward or backwards on the cam gears, would that bring me back to where i need to be?

i dont understand what you mean with only the 2 teeth? and why hit it with a mallet?

#188148 i thought you ment your couldnt get the dist into line up with the cam, like get the 2 teeth on the dist gear syncronized with the cam... it sounds like you have the wrong dist then friend... or that your engines out of time, i would double check that, everything should be put at zero, like what it illustrates in a haynes manual... the bolt pattern on a ls dist should be if your facing it strait on, it sould be 3 even ears on the main body evenly spaced apart?

#188150 yeah thats what im thinking but it was on and bolted when i bought the engine?
