#188989 Thanks, I'm pretty happy with the sound system! Its nice balacend and dosn't have that neck brakeing punch from the base. And the best thing about it that the most audio eqipment is stealth.

Here is the latest update, its not much but you know small stepps make the difference :D

polished the engine mount a little bit

#195777 Found some time to get allong with the engine.

Cleaned, sandblasted, painted and rehoned the block. The Flexhone is a realy good tool for deglasing.

Image

borrowed some measuring tools from work and did some measurements. And this are the results:

Piston to wall: Z1=36µm Z2=38µm Z3=40µm Z4=37µm
rod play: Pl1=30µm Pl2=30µm Pl3=31µm Pl4=29µm
main play: HL1=22µm HL2=37µm HL3=29µm HL4=39µm HL5=25µm

#196284 Getting closer. Pre assembled the mani

Done! Now about the head, getting the valves in was a real pita when you dont have the right tools. I used a ring spanner and my fingers[po]

Image
Image

The next thing was the oil pan. Cleand it and put some new paint on it. Put some new skrews in because the old ones where rustet as hell!

Image
Image

Hehe, now everything is clean and sealed

After that i used some klay to check how the quench aera looks like.

Image

Bang! That's tight only 0,5mm left.

Image
Image

And how about the valves?

Image

They got so mutch room, the dont even touch the klay!

So now that i have everything in the green zone it's time to install the ARP head studs.

Image

Allmost done. Some parts are missing like some brakets and new waterpump etc.

#196293 That engine is a beautiful sight! I love fresh builds. You have excellent resources too, tools and shop. I'd like to see some more pics of your shop some time if you don't mind.

No the head had never seen a hot tank.

@93hatheg: The engine will get a white valvecover or a kevlarcoated.
