got pulled over tonight

- Thu Apr 22, 2010 2:21 am #189103 so tonight on my way home from work and rolled a red light in front of a cop
i get pulled over and the cop comes up asks for my reg and license and he asks if i knew why i got pulled over and i was like yeah i rolled that red light he was like yup hold tight
he goes back to his car then a second cop pulls up like 1 min after
he pulls out his flash light and starts looking at my car like thru the rear window and my eg8 is gutted so you can see everything
he starts looking at like my 1/4 panels and my tires while im just sitting there
he comes to my window and asks me about my rear tires and my lack of rear seats
i told himi know i need rear tires and that i was switching my rear seats to leather and hadnt gotten around to it
so then he starts asking my obvious qusetions like where i live how long iv had the car and stupid shit
im wicked honest (cept the rear seats) and real nice
so then i get a 74 dollar ticket for rolliong a red light at 9 at night in a desrted town
im pretty pissed and going to court cause he was way over the top with his questioning
but do i have a case or are all the stupid questions he asked me leagel or could i have just said none of ur buisness ?

and about the questioning. depending your laws, he possible could of hit you for all kinds of fines.

- Thu Apr 22, 2010 2:30 am #189107 i thin k they are also but the thing is he asked me if i had ever been arrested before like a threat it was kinda weird as far as im concernd if my car is inspected and registered you shouldnt ask me if i have proper paper work that it was mine and he asked me if i had my own keys
it was just really un necaccary to have two cops questioning me

he was pulling out of an intersection behind me and i was like half way thru the intersection before he could even see me
its not like i saw him and was like bwaaaab thru the light and i was going like 2mph like i understand i did something wrong but there rsponse was over the top
what kind of fines do you speak of?

They have the right to ask question on a car that is basically in bare. It's not like they come across gutted cars all the time.

You have no case you will waste more money and time taking it to court.
Learn to drive and follow the rules of the road and quit giving civic owners a bad name.

it was an honest mistake that turned into cops being dicks trust me im a good driver only been pulled over one other time in my civic
if you think im giving civic drivers a bd rep thing again look at my build my car looks like shit i aint a ricer that thinks my car is faster then everything else in the word so considering you are a newb id stop while your ahead

- Thu Apr 22, 2010 3:17 am #189136 Lol cops ftl. I got pulled over a few weeks back cause my exhaust was "too loud". I cruised past the state trooper in 5th gear going 50 in a 55, and he light me up. I have a b18b with a full custom 2.5 inch exhaust with a resonator and a 3.5 inch n1 knockoff with a silencer. I know it wasnt loud, or like i was mashing through low gears but whatev. He was such a dick. Told me my exhaust was deafening loud and that he could give me a ticket for tinted windows even though my windows have no tint whatsoever. And to top it off he looked through my car and found 2 radio decks on my back seat and ask me where i stole them from, nice right. Eventually he let it go when i explained to him that i just bought one and i was in the middle of wiring the new one in. Anyways I "got off easy" with just an muffler ticket which im going to fight in court next month. Such a pain in the ass.

The questions sound a little weird but hey, the honda civic is one of the most stolen cars. Some profiling might have been going on but if it helps them catch someone who stole someone else's civic I'm fine answering some questions that I am completely innocent of.

you're lucky. everytime i get near a cop they look up my plates. the stupid thing is i don't look thug and i give the super nerdy white guy wave. cops need to get a hard on by bossing guys like us(on this forum) around. they don't get it from their wives i'm sure.

- Thu Apr 22, 2010 3:48 am #189152 I got pulled over a few times before cause of my exhaust but was let off with warnings to make it quieter. The nice Dutchess County Sherrifs let me go and told me to get a resonator and a silencer to hush it up which i do have. The trooper wasnt so kind.

Never been pulled over yet luckily and my whole muffler is rusted through on the bottom. Cops can be dicks sometimes.

ya man 75 bucks isnt worth the time your gonna spend in court
like you said everyone makes mistakes, and ya cops profile civics
ive had a cop personally tell me and some homies they do, cause like mention above it helps wit find car theifs and stolen parts.. but you did the rite thing by bein nice and honest wit the cops, but they could have lettin you off wit a warning.. but its all on the cop

ive been let off 7 of the 8 times ive been pulled over

so imo dont fight it, just pay it and be on ur way

its not thati dont wanna pay 75 bucks its just the fact thati did nothing to make them think i stole anything
iv had the car for 2 years and drive to work everyday so they really have no excuse for thinking i stole shit
