- Wed Apr 28, 2010 1:22 am #190514 Well lately as the winter changes to summer people have been stopping by my house asking about the hatch in my backyard my poor CX which i am hopeing to bring back to life after all its been thru....

but a part of me wants something new yet idk I feel as tho its been with me this long i should just stick with it and go forth and get it to something i really want screw the cost time and effort since ive already put way too much of that stuff in and of coarse countless quarts of blood lmao to get anything close out of it....

As it sits now one of the rear upper control arm mounting nuts is stripped either going to oversize cut drill and retap or retap if its possible....

suspension has seen better days but i wanted somethign better anyhow

and of coarse no motor or trans but like i have posted working on a turbo setup for it.....

and interior wise im going to redo it completely rear seat delete bars galore since in NYS its illegal to have a roll cage in your car dont ask me why and yea just redoing things that need to be done adding power mirrors mainly...and cleaning things up.

my plans are numerous indeed exspecially with my lost project of a custom cluster but hopefully i will be able to get that back on track with the comming good weather.....

mainly what im looking for is comformation that im not crazy for spending all this money into my beloved car....i mean im sure with all im putting into it i will be able to enjoy it for along time but like most things i do i will never get my time and effort back out of it idk lol i think most people see me as nuts holding on to this car. but something inside of me sees the potential etc. so someone comfort my mind is saying keeping this thing is the right thing to do.....

P.s. around where i live all of a sudden there has been a large drop in hatchbacks on the road either people moved wrecked or junked them and i think thats why people are asking about mine plus mine being a cx its light weight and i love that potential......

i say keep the hatch, it might just be sitting there now but some day youll finish it. And when you do it will be completely worth it. Like you said, no one has hatches anymore, do you want to sell it and have some 16 year old kid destroy it? that would make you sad and i know it. Keep telling people NO to your hatch, and put the time and effort into it. The car is paid for, once you fix the few things and get a motor.tranny for it youll have a rust free, reliable, EG hatch that will romp on people, and be a blast to drive and knowing that YOU built it from the ground up. You've already put a ton of money/time into the car, whats a little more? there isn't any rush to finish it. The only rush is yourself.

Keep the car, take your time, and have fun with it. Shouldn't be a headache to build it, should have fun with it so when its done you know what you have, and you have good memories of the car.

Shit you got hit by a tractor trailer in it and it is straight as a arrow, how many other cars can do that?

Its your car, you've had it for how long? no sense in losin it now!

Look at my car. You hate my car, and i know it needs A LOT of money/time. But its my car, hasn't let me down.

i hear day in and out how much of a beater my car is and when am i gonna get a real car with nice interior
but heres my thought its paid for and its mine and its a labor of love

i almost sold mine and had several ppl in my driveway wit cash and i couldnt let it go
just look back on all the work and fun youve had in it

- Wed Apr 28, 2010 8:12 am #190576 ya man dont get rid of it.. look at my car. its been in primer for over a year, its one hell of a beater, but i still put money into it.. i could ezily sell it and go get something else, but i cant, everything done to my car was done by me.. i had this problem when i blew up my ek.. i couldnt let her go, i had ppl offer me cash in hand but i still said no, i even put a sign in the window sayin not for sale..lol.. i tried everything to fix her, but i didnt have the knowledge i have now.. till this day i miss the living shit outta my ek..

i say keep the sedan and daily that and work on the hatch

If wait you are saying about how the hatches in your town are low in numbers then a couple of years you will be like that guy with a 32 coupe that everyone stare at because they want one. I gave up my s10 i loved that truck and every time i see one im kicking my ass because i could still have it. Look at my si the front end looks like it has a seat for someone to sit on im still rockin it, still driving it to work and i almost sold it for someone else fucked hatch with a b16a that i already had. Just keep the car and show everyone what a real civic hatch is suppose to look like :thumb:
