#190539 It all depends on how much you want to spend.

The 98 B20s are the lame duck ones. 8.8:1 CR. 126hp/140ish tq.

Since you already have the LS and the B16a just use them. Do it right or you will be doing it again. There is a sticky about building a reliable LS/Vtec motor on this site.

#190589 if you can get the b20 for 300 or less buy it and put it back, the poormans r is essentially a gsr bottom end with b16 head,

and my b20 was the "lame duck" version as well 97spec... and it still ran awsome...

granted you can swap in ITR or CTR pistons into the poor mans R, and mild port the head yourself and get ITR or CTR cams and basicly have a type R,

however my poormans R is a bone stock gsr bottom end, with a mild ported b16 head with gsr cams, made off of all stock parts, and ive walked b20v's and even dyno tuned boosted z6 setups and i beat one fully honda built lsv.

and for what its worth in that setup id get GSR or Si gears :thumb:
