If that's the engine you bought from me in fredericton, it should be a Y8 harness because the D15B is VTEC.

im changing the harness to an obd2-a y7 one and im just going to wire up vtec after and ill be using a 97 p2p ecu also i was told i just need to bypass this censor

Why would you bypass it then? Just plug it in!
You have the OBD2 engine harness, the OBD2 ECU harness, and an OBD2 ECU. So what's the problem?
By bypassing it, you're removing the ECU's protection against knock. The ECU reads that sensor, compares it to the distributor sensor to see if there's a slight difference in speed. If it sees nothing, it runs leaner and more advanced for increased performance and fuel economy. When you bypass that sensor, you're telling the ECU that it is always okay. Well, guess what happens when it's not actually okay?
