i cant see the weight to power difference being that much, but i havent tried cutting weight and adding power to see what the difference is.... personally i dont see it being that much.... :eh:

#196541 take your hatch for a spin around the block by yourself. then go pick up 3 fat friends and tell me you don't notice a MASSIVE difference.

i know what you mean, i notice a difference in how hard the car pulls just a little on top end, but honestly my car pulls like a bitch so i really dont notice that much of a diff. with 3 people in my car the biggest thing i notice is it dosent spin as much, but really it isnt that big of a difference.... i will say you notice a diff in how it pulls, but i dont see it saving the life of your clutch drasticly by cutting some weight.... sorry... not trying to instiagate an agrument, but id have to see a fact document on paper before id believe it... imo 500lbs isnt a whole lot of diff...

its only like 5tenths off your track time....

#196672 ^how much HP you makin?

I'm still just running a STOCK b1 w/ bolt-ons! every pound counts!

and, i'm not talking about "cutting some weight" to get more clutch life. what i'm saying is, the OEM GSR clutch is made to handle its power in a car that weighs 700lbs more than a gutted hatch. that's quite a lot of weight, which makes me think it would definitely make a difference in the actual HP it can handle..

me or gsr?

im on a street tune now that a friend did, im guessing around 275ish wheel, im running the same boost i had on my stock ls with ported head and b20 cams, it was on a basmap... i ran like 9psi on it.... and really the only diff i could tell was in how much it spun with that setup too... im shooting to go to the dyno in the fall and id like to go between 300 to 325whp i will say the b16 has x2 the top end pull that the ls did, it feels like itll never stop pulling, the ls slacked off at about 100mph... the b16 will push my speedo out of numbers (guessing around 140mph).... and that is running ls gears with a lsd... my clutch was slipping then... i have a new act 6puk and a findanza flywheel so im sure thatll help too, i just have an old 6puk that was on the floor in my shop and a light steel flywheel now, i know the b16 is making more power, that clutch held fine all last summer behind my ls... after about 6 or 8 passes with the b16 and she was toast hahaha
